The natural silk proteins, mainly fibroins, are usually ball shaped, which is due to their primary structure, i.e. the amino acid sequence in polypeptides. Owing to their properties they can to a large extent influence the process of restoring the skin,s resilience and flexibility. They stop the degeneration processes accompanying the ageing of the skin. They maintain proper tensions and flexibility of skin and delay the appearance of wrinkles. A very important characteristic of silk proteins is their ability to hold water within the cuticle. Moreover, they stimulate the cell metabolism processes and accelerate the process purging the skin of excess of subcutaneous fat.
